About
Stewards of the Land
The land that Lundy Farm sits on is stewarded by Reconsider, a non profit focused on addressing today’s mental and societal challenges. Reconsider works with and works to inspire visionary leaders through connection, authentic conversations, films, workshops and transformational medicines.
The land’s atmosphere of peace and tranquility supports our work and makes it the perfect place for retreats, conversation, listening, sharing, and transformation.
We acknowledge the land on which we sit as the original homeland of the Lenape people and many other people before them. We recognize the painful history of genocide in our history and in current time across the planet and pay our respects by envisioning a way of living in harmony with all beings.
The Estate
Brooklyn restauranteur Irving Lundy purchased 5,405 acres of land in 1920 for his estate. He constructed stone buildings and bridges, horse and cow stables, a chicken coop, and an artesian well. Lundy developed the evergreen landscape, cedar forest, and freshwater pond. The estate was a gathering place for experiencing nature’s high aesthetics, and through an extensive revitalization, that foundation and vision have been maintained.
Guests stay in two distinct houses that feature comfortable common rooms, reading nooks, fireplaces, stone patios, dining rooms, and a game room with a video projector.
A modern greenhouse, 3-acre regenerative organic farm, and chef kitchen complement the estate. The property is the home of an apple, peach, and pear orchard, a compost site, laying hens, and bees. The farm proudly produces the majority of the food for our innovative, seasonal plant-based cuisine. Inspire your inner-chef and utilize the outdoor bbq, fire pits or the chef’s kitchen.
The expansive landscape set in a mountainous valley caters to long walks, bike rides, and hiking. The restored horse stables were thoughtfully remodeled into a movement and wellness studio. A large spring-fed pond—complete with rope swings— and a saltwater swimming pool provide plenty of opportunities for fun and relaxation. The newly resurfaced tennis courts, basketball hoop and acres of lawn for croquet are the perfect setting for friendly games.
